"Trieste Contemporanea. Dialogues with the Central Eastern Europe Art" was born in June 1995: some associations agreed with the idea to build in Trieste a permanent observatory on cultural currents that cross Europe promoting a festival. The intention to turn the role of this city to the one of a hinge among European West, ex East Europe Countries and Mediterranean ones found since the first edition many influential agreements: starting from the one of the Chamber of Commerce of Trieste to those of prominent cultural Institutions of the city , as well as prestigious international collaborations. All that allowed the coproduction of many initiatives dedicated to visual art, music, cinema, literature, multimediality, theatre, architecture and design.
